RAISING YOUR BLUE IQ TO KEEP YOU, YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS & COMMUNITY SAFE ON ANY SHORE

Live to be the hero - PROTECT YOURSELF AND OTHERS

Why

The Bruckner Chase Ocean Positive foundation works around the world in the areas of coastal safety, science and conservation in alignment with their mission to positively impact how we all feel, think and act towards our oceans and our communities.  As we inspire and create opportunities for everyone to personally connect to our natural waters we recognize the need to ensure those experiences are safe for those we touch and those any of us may encounter along the shore. For over a decade Ocean Positive has worked with agencies and groups such as NOAA, National Weather Service, Surf Lifesaving Australia, International Lifesaving Federation, Lifesaving Society Canada, World Drowning Prevention Conference, American Meteorological Society and many more in the area of coastal safety, weather, science and conservation. The Ocean City Swim Club is bringing the community and individual safety goals of the Foundation closer to home in South Jersey to teach a respect for the ocean and dynamic open water in a context relevant for new and veteran ocean athletes, open water swimmers and coastal visitors. The Ocean Heroes Surf Safety training provides the knowledge, skills and mindset for the non-professional rescuer to "Think like a lifeguard," and be capable of protecting themselves and others if they witness or become part of a dangerous situation on the shore or in the water.

NOAA OCEAN TODAY'S NEW BLUE IQ SERIES:

We went outside the box to inform and protect everyone on any shore using the more common imagery and stories of collegiate sport to help make the dynamic and complex coastal environment more relatable. Rice University Student-Athletes are our inspiring mentors and positive influencers on coastal safety starring in this summer’s NOAA National Ocean Service film series releasing this summer.
